PROTECT Project: 30-Second Pupil Video on the Effects of Climate Change
Attention: Clare Primary and Post-Primary Schools
Clare Education Centre is leading a new Erasmus+ project — PROTECT: Pupil-led Response to the Effects of Climate Change on Their Local Communities — in partnership with organisations in Ireland, Serbia, Norway, Croatia and Portugal.
A central aim of the project is to amplify student voice in conversations about climate action and the future of local communities. To support this, schools in County Clare are invited to submit a short video (30–45 seconds) featuring pupils sharing their views, concerns and hopes in relation to climate change.
Submitted clips will be compiled into a single presentation and will be:
- Showcased at a special event in the Clare County Council Chamber on 15 October 2025
- Shared on the PROTECT project’s social media channels
- Used as a learning resource throughout the three-year PROTECT project
How to submit
- Orientation: Landscape where possible
- Sound quality: Pupils should speak clearly, facing the camera; minimise background noise
- Consent: Parental permission must be obtained. Videos will appear on the PROTECT website and at a PROTECT teacher training course
- Length: Approximately 30–45 seconds
- File name: Include school name and country
- Format: MP4 preferred
- Submission: Email to aine@clareed.ie
Participation gives pupils a meaningful platform to contribute to a European-wide discussion on climate action.
