Clare Education Centre was delighted to participate in the second Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) event of the Erasmus+ funded PROTECT Project – Pupil-led Response to the Effects of Climate Change on Their Local Communities, hosted by OŠ “Miloje Čiplić” in Novi Bečej, Serbia, from 12–15 October 2026.
As lead coordinating organisation of this three-year European partnership, Clare Education Centre is proud to work alongside dedicated educators and schools from Ireland, Serbia, Norway, Portugal and Croatia.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in collaborative professional learning, STEAM-based workshops, school visits and the sharing of innovative approaches to climate education.
🌱 A particular highlight was witnessing pupil voice in action, with young people demonstrating how they can investigate environmental challenges, develop creative solutions and become active agents of change within their own communities.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen our European partnerships, exchange good practice and further develop the teaching and learning resources that will support climate education across our participating schools.
👏 A sincere thank you to our wonderful Serbian hosts, OŠ “Miloje Čiplić”, and particularly Emma Lenkes and her colleagues, for their exceptional hospitality, organisation and commitment to the project.
We also acknowledge the enthusiasm and dedication of all our European partners, whose collaboration continues to bring the PROTECT vision to life.
